Here’s a blast from the past to cheer you up (if you need it, if not then continue being happy).
I used to love P!nk pre Try This;my friend and I were massive fans back in our mid-late primary school attempt-to-be-grunge-kids phase. We knew all the words to this song and used to rap (I use that term loosely) it in the playground. We thought we were such badasses because the CD was rated 12, and we were only 11.
Man I feel old talking about P!nk like it was ” back in the day”.

I read a fact the other day about left handed people and apparently we are more affected by fear and negative emotions. Wonderful.
Being left handed I can say that there have been several occasions in my life where fear has affected my actions, but in silly things that most people wouldn’t let fear affect. However, I’m much better with other negative emotions which don’t tend to affect me as much. But who knows if this is because I write with my left hand.
I’ve heard several statistical facts over the years about left handed people; apparently we’re more creative, better at science (which most would think contradicts the previous statement, but if you think about it it makes sense) and on average we die 7 years earlier than right handed people. I also heard some figure about how many left handed people die per year purely due to “right handed” things like appliances, and something about the way we tend to turn different ways, but I can’t remember the number and don’t know if it’s related to the last fact.
There must be some truth to these facts because in all of my art classes at school, and at my art college now, they are dominated by lefties, unlike all of my other classes where we were the minority. I was also good at science but there are plenty, if not more, right handed people who are very good at science. To my knowledge I have never hurt myself using a right handed appliance, although they have caused me PLENTY of hassle. Let’s hope I don’t die seven years early.

With A Heavy Heart (I Regret To Inform You)…
Today is a sad, sad day. Does It Offend You, Yeah? have gone on haitus D’:
They are by far one of the best bands I’ve seen live and I’m just gutted I didn’t get to see them more, I had to miss their most recent three shows that were close to me, which I am obviously regretting a LOT now.
I don’t think they were ever appreciated enough; this is one of my favourite songs by them and I remember how much of an amazing surprise it was when I heard it first, because I just didn’t expect such it from them and it’s something that always gets left out of live shows, which is an immense shame.
This is the fourth, at least, time one of my favourite bands have gone on haitus; so far the other three have come back so lets hope they don’t leave it too long, they will be sorely missed.

The fact that I couldn’t even listen to one of my favourite band’s new releases the day it comes out, let alone trawl the internet for some form of leak first, just shows how disgustingly busy I’ve been. Anyway, order has been restored and I finally got a chance to listen to this today. It’s not what I expected after Flutes, but in a gloriously surprising, good way. Beats like this are why I love Hot Chip. I cannot wait until the new album, and I especially cannot wait until June 13th. I will be in Heaven (harhar haar…).

Knife Party is playing in the club right next to my uni tonight and I can’t go :(
What kind of nonsense is that?

My Dad just played me this song. He didn’t tell me what it was and made me see how quickly I could get it (I obviously get my love of surprises from him). I have to admit, although I often complained about my Dad’s choice of music as a child, my Dad’s music taste is actually alright. He did introduce me to some of my favourite bands when I was younger after all, and, though he won’t admit this, he secretly loves the CD’s I make for our yearly roadtrip to Ireland.

I’m battered and bruised all over, I have mysterious scratches all down my neck and I went to work (taking out staples) with 3 hours sleep. On the plus side I didn’t fall over or smash my glasses and Lostprophets were pretty dam good. There new stuff sounds great, but for me, having not seen them before, the highlight of the night was Rooftops and Last Train Home. Am just a little bit tempted to see them again…

What. How. Why.
Really, I’d love to know how this collaboration came about. Yes, the sound quality of this video is shit (for now it’s the only one I can find) but don’t let it fool you, this is a legitimate remix and Metronomy put it as a B-side on A Thing For Me. I know, I was shocked too.
I have kind of taken a strange liking to it…
(donk is one of my guilty pleasures, what can I say)

Lost the plot.
I was thinking about this the other day, random, but coincedental.
You really can’t beat live Bliss (and you especially can’t beat red haired Matt Bellamy…red haired Matt Bellamy swinging a guitar)

On Wednesday night I was very lucky to be invited to an exclusive gig in a new venue in London, hosted by Snowbombing. Once again I found myself in a very surreal situation where I appear to live like a VIP when I am infact, not (or am I?), ie you can’t buy tickets, your name had to be on the list. It was on the top of a building near Bethnal Green (Netil House if you’re interested, it’s got loads of studio space), where they have built a new rooftop bar. The views are amazing, pretty much a full panoramic of the London skyline; from the Olympic stadium across to Canary Wharf, the Shard, the Gherkin and over to the BT Tower. Even better, that night was really clear and the moon was almost full so all in all it was a breathtaking view. Unfortunately, my camera is currently still broken so I couldn’t take any good pictures :( This was one of the few photos I took (of my mum XD tickets were courtesy of her), and it came out looking rather, unintentionally, arty. I like it, you can even see a bit of Gabby Young in the background.
Who is Gabby Young? I didn’t know either, but she was singing and playing her guitar as we walked in and she’s pretty good. She is usually part of Gabby Young & Other Animals; she has a beautiful voice, and she dresses amazingly too. The main event of the night was an intimate acoustic set from Maverick Sabre, followed by a DJ set from MistaJam. The bar was free too; not exactly a bad way to spend your evening after having an interview (of which I still don’t know the result, so I could’ve been celebrating or drowning my sorrows, who knows).
